Fall in Tennessee does its best work after dark. The Smokies hand over all that color during the day, but the part people actually remember comes later: when the porch light is on, the fire pit is going, and a sweatshirt is pulled out of the truck. That hour has always belonged to something rich and slow, and 55th Avenue Cocktails are built for that moment exactly. Four canned martinis made with real cream and real coffee, cold right out of the refrigerator, shaken once and poured.
A Carolina Porch, Bottled
55th Avenue takes its name from a street on Isle of Palms, just outside Charleston, where the founding family spent years watching the sun go down over the water. The brand comes from Bevhaus Brands USA, a family-owned outfit, and the whole idea was to take that unhurried coastal Southern evening and put it in a can. They’re actual cocktails made with actual cream, in packaging good enough to set on the bar cart without apology.
The method is right there on the label: chill, shake, pour. No shopping list and no three liqueurs you’ll use once and then move around the cabinet for two years. Each cocktail runs 12.5% ABV, uses premium natural ingredients with no added sugar, and comes in 250 ml cans sold four to a pack. And they’re not malt-based or wine-based, which is the part people tend to be surprised by. It’s the real thing in a can.
That approach has clearly landed. The brand recently crossed 1,000 retail locations, and Tennessee will recognize a lot of the names carrying it (including Buc-ee’s, Harris Teeter and Total Wine).
Espresso Martini Cream

The gold medal winner from 2024, and the one to hand someone who says they don’t like canned cocktails. What makes it work is restraint. Plenty of coffee cocktails lean on sugar to cover a thin base. This one leans on cream and lets the espresso do the talking. Serve it in a coupe with a dusting of cocoa and nobody at the table is going to ask what bottle it came out of.
Best enjoyed: After supper, straight from the chilled can into a martini glass, alongside a slice of chess pie.
Espresso Martini Black

The 2025 bronze medalist and the one for the coffee purists. This is the dairy-free expression, built on real cold brew rather than cream, and it drinks noticeably drier and more bracing than its cousin. It’s also gluten-free and vegan-friendly, which makes it the easy answer when you’re hosting a mixed crowd and don’t want to run a separate drink program for one person. And because it carries real caffeine from real coffee, it earns its place as the drink you open when the evening is going to keep going.
Try it as a long pour over a single large cube with a swath of orange peel expressed over the top. The citrus oil against the dark roast is a genuinely great five seconds.
Best enjoyed: Chilled and shaken, poured over a big cube, before a night out on Broadway or a bonfire at Norris Lake.
Mexican Style Chocolate Martini

The other 2024 gold medal winner, and the most fun of the four. Smooth chocolate with a low, warming hint of spice on the back end. It’s sweet up front with a little heat behind it. This is the one that makes people put their phone down. It’s a dessert and a nightcap at the same time, and the spice keeps it from getting cloying halfway through the glass. On a cold snap in Chattanooga, it’s practically a public service.
Best enjoyed: In a cinnamon-sugar-rimmed coupe, with a plate of pecans or a square of good dark chocolate.
Irish Cream Martini

The 2025 silver medalist and the sleeper favorite. Irish whiskey flavor, velvety chocolate, and real cream - a familiar profile executed with more polish than the category usually delivers. If you grew up on Tennessee banana pudding, this one is going to feel like it was designed for you, because it more or less was. Pour it alongside dessert instead of coffee and watch the table reorganize itself.
Best enjoyed: Over ice in a rocks glass with a grating of nutmeg, or poured straight over a bowl of banana pudding (which sounds like a dare until you try it).
Worth Knowing Before You Pour
All four ready-to-drink cocktails are made with real ingredients, and three of them (Espresso Martini Cream, Mexican Style Chocolate, and Irish Cream) are made with real dairy cream, so they’re not a fit for anyone avoiding milk. The Espresso Martini Black is the dairy-free option in the lineup. All four are gluten-free, and all four should be properly chilled before being shaken. Give them real time in the refrigerator, not fifteen minutes in the freezer.
Fall in Tennessee moves fast. The leaves turn in the Smokies, the tailgates start in Knoxville, the porches get busy, and suddenly it’s the holidays. A four-pack in the back of the refrigerator handles most of the season without much thought. Chill, shake, pour - the rest takes care of itself.
